2. Life is beautiful - What is a great story? The one with a happy ending I think not, for me a great story is the one where reality is the central idea. It depends on the narrator how he depicts reality on the canvas. 

Life is beautiful is a magnificent piece of work by dir. Roberto Benigni shows a story of a man and how love can do miracles. Guido's movie wife was Robert's real-life wife Nicoletta Braschi. It was for the first time in history that a director won Oscar for best actor for a movie which he had directed himself.

 I think it deserved more with the ratings, gaining 8.6 on IMDb and 80% Rotten Tomatoes. This Italian gem is available on Amazon Prime.

3. Anand - 'Life should be big not long' the point is to live this life rather than spending it, Anand is an emotion which lives within ourselves and sooner or later we feel it at some point of life. 

We all are aware of what Gulzar's pen can do, and this gem truly depicts it. Gulzar wrote the screenplay, dialogues, and few lyrics for some songs. This was the changing point for our Angry young man AB being his first hit. Anand recently celebrated 50 years of bringing the same joy to anyone who watches it.

4. 12 years a slave - The human race is always in a war, sometimes with guns and sometimes with minds. love and hate both are dangerous if take place with the wrong person. 12 years a slave is the bitter truth of our history which we need to know to praise the present. 

The movie rolls around the timeline of the 1850s and one can feel the aura and horror of that time, we have come through a lot and there is more to come. For me, everyone has the right to choose his life but should also be responsible for the consequences. For someone who is thinking what a waste of life is, he must watch this gem.

5. The Truman show - Sometimes I think our world is nothing but a science project of some high school kid and he is observing the changes and evolution of human beings like we observe a butterfly's life cycle. 

Understanding the beauty of this movie, Carry charged $12 million instead of his regular $20 million, although the production team waited for almost a year for Carry to finish his LIAR LIAR. to this date it's a question where this beauty was shot, it was in Florida.

6. Pyaasa - It's really difficult to find an unfeigned person in this world, we live in a sad and bitter world where an act of comfort is rare to find. Pyaasa was an absolute implausible piece of cinema, with every dialogue touching our heart with every poetry we connect more to the sad reality of the world.

It is lesser-known that Late Dilip Kumar was actually the first choice for the role of Vijay but because of his absence on the first day of shoot dir. Guru Dutt himself acted and gave us a performance which totally changed Indian cinema, also Nargis and Madhubala was cast as the lead actresses but changed last minute. Based on the story Kashmakash also written by Dutt Sahab, Pyaasa to date is one of the cult classics.

8. Shawshank redemption - I don't believe in god but I do fear him. there is no eternal force that is going to make our lives better there is only one thing that is holding this mankind, hope. Shawshank redemption is a tale of hope and survival which portrays how dubious life can be. 

Morgan was so dedicated to the film that the baseball shot which took 9 hours led to put morgan's arm in a sling the next day. very few know that the photo of young red was actually morgan's younger son Alfonso freeman. It was believed that Hank will play andy but because of Hank's commitment to Forrest Gump, he turned down the role.

Our favorite Adrien Brody was seen not as much as he's worth it, this was because most of his scene was cut down to lose the stash. Brody was himself unaware of these changes. It's an old saying that 'the thin red line is the gap between sane and the mad, the film depicts how these men mud their minds in order to survive the war.

'Stand by me' comes from the same collection of stories as 'Shawshank redemption.' on the verge of getting shut down by Coca-Cola, It's almost a miracle this gem is in front of us. As a fun fact it is believed phoenix lost his virginity during the filming noticed by the crew because of his extra smiling during the shoot. To catch the real reactions the cast didn't saw the dead body before the characters and it was really worth it.

coco ( ode to quietus )

 To do what makes you happy is the real success for me. we all are surviving on this earth with each day with each breath, it's about surviving by doing what you adore. coco is a beautiful story of a boy hounding his passion with having those same family restrictions but the story is not just about miguel achieving his grail but also finding his true self.

what is 'the great beyond' for me its every moment in which i feel more living my life and less surviving it. its when i play blues on my guitar, when i see her smile, when i have those forest rides with my chap, its when i feel the appease of the dying sun, all those moments are the great beyond for me.

we really die when there is no one left to remember us. when we are young we think life is going to give us so many people we would connect with but its not true there will be only a few, so when you meet them give them a reason to remember you.

nostalgia is denial to the bitter present. memories are the most great and bizarre gift to human kind, they can be healing and painful at the same time. 

'remember me' is the soul of this movie, the roller coaster of emotions throughout the song is too much to take in. the pain of separation is best known to those who surmise to meet again.

slavery was the malediction of our world. the difference between a servant and a salve is that a servant serves you but slave is your property. a slave is a pointless creature made just to follow the orders and believe me there was a time when it was customary.  

those who are born in a cage have no muddle with its bounds. solomon was not born in a cage he knows the essence of freedom, and his journey to find that essence again, takes us to the reality of life. 

who is a real slave? i think the one who don't do something about his bounds someone who have accepted the irrational terms of society someone who is free yet chained by his emotional curtailment. break the shackles, life is too short and it will be over before you know it.  

until the philosophy which hold one race or person superior and other inferior is abandoned and discredited there will be war.

The great Dictator ( meaning of humanity )

 

sometime you can feel so much in a moment than in your whole life. there is nothing like eternal peace its self awakening which helps you to except the world with its pragmatic and gloomy pieces. the great dictator is a delight to watch with its ending left us in wonder and exert us to think who is the real demon. 

love exist only because of hate, one must feel and know hate in order to praise the beauty of love and happiness. i think these wars and plagues is what keeping us sane, they teaches us how fragile life is and one must love it.

we the human race needs a leader not a ruler. we are living in the best era which is between the two worst decades, the one which is gone bought the war for land, for race and the one which is coming will bring the great war of depression.

we are becoming egocentric. our ignorance towards listening and understanding others is taking us to destruction. there are no aliens who will come and destroy us, we are the one who will go to them and slave them for us blooming.

  

"we think too much and feel too little" we must remember the true meaning of humanity. we all got both light and dark inside us its our choices which makes us what we are so choose wisely.

life is more tangible than we think it is, so spend it while making memories not just your own but for others too. to be remembered by someone, to have a person who will try to find you in those stars is enough for a man.  

those values the love most who lacks it, i liked how guido calls dora as princess and i loved how he treated her like one. even when they were in camp he managed to play a song for her in that moment the stream of emotions was piercing every part of our heart. 

guido was a father who gave his son the gift of life twice. you can't repay love, its selfless its not out of generosity but an act of true happiness. i think when he got shot he must be wearing that same alluring smile with a pinch of hope for survival of his family.
